The River Aare is one of the most impressive natural features around the small town of Gümligen. Its riverside trails offer the perfect way to enjoy the beauty of nature while walking, jogging or on leisurely cycling tours. On warm summer days, the River Aare offers a great spot to swim and relax. The sparkling waters and lush vegetation provide a stunning backdrop. You can reach the scenic river landscape from Gümligen in about 20 to 30 minutes on foot.
Dentenberg
The Dentenberg is an elevated landscape situated south of Gümlingen that is renowned for its tranquillity and scenic beauty. Its forested slopes and wide meadows offer excellent opportunities for hiking. The trails lead through dense forests and offer impressive views of the Aare Valley, the city of Bern and, in good weather, even as far as the Alps. The Dentenberg area is particularly stunning in autumn, with its vibrant array of deciduous trees. The hike from Gümligen to the summit of Dentenberg, 731 meters above sea level, takes approximately one hour.
